SANSKRIT AND SAMHITA SIDDHANTHA

Ayurveda is an ancient science it is not only a medical science but an Art of Living in Human being.” This is the first and the most important Department in Ayurveda, Also known as Basic principles Department. This department is concerned with basic principles of Ayurveda which are described in classical texts i.e. Bruhtrayi and Laghutrayi.

Introduction 

Being the foundation subject, all the basic principles of Ayurveda are incorporated within Ayurved Samhita & Siddhant. It has a well preserved elegant museum with Charts, instruments, models and specimen.                    

 The department also has an exclusive library.
In the course of 1st year, 2nd year and 3 rd year BAMS & MD of Ayurved Samhita & Siddhant. Ayurved Samhita & Siddhant is an extremely dynamic and interesting subject to an inquisitive Practitioner and Researcher of Ayurveda. All the medical sciences require basic knowledge of Ayurved Samhita & Siddhant. Hence the study is indeed the most important of basic sciences of the life.

This Department has vast curriculum related with three years of UG course. Sanskrit, Padarth Vidnyan & Ayurvedic Itihas, Mailik siddhant Avum Astang Hridayam, Charak (Poorwardh) & Charak (uttarardha) these are the subjects related with this department.

This Department deals with the study of Philosophical fundamental approach of Ayurveda. The name of the department itself suggests that it elaborates the basic concepts of diagnosis and treatment. The basic concepts if applied properly and in its authentic way, it leads to the absolute knowledge of disease; which is applied to the newer diseases, too.

Darshana Shastra and the scientific base laid by them enable to amplify and implement the concepts. Sanskrit is the basic subject which has been taught to the students through this department. The subject has been included in the curriculum as it is the language of the ancient Ayurvedic texts
